Before doing that, just to make sure that the pet cock's your problem, pull off the carburator end of the fuel line and set the pet cock to prime. If no fuel comes out, either you're out of gas, there's a clog in the fuel line, or the pet cocks screwed up. If fuel does come out, your problem might be in your carb.
